Nita Reddy is the secretary of the governor of New York, responsible for negotiations with the inmates during the riot in Litchfield in Season Five. She serves as a tertiary antagonist of the season. She is protrayed by Gita Reddy.
Nita is shown to be very level-headed and intelligent. She was remorseful toward Maria Ruiz after she runs over to her daughter after releasing the hostages as a bargain.
Physical Appearence Edit
Nita is a woman of Indian descent with long brown hair. She dresses very formally and has well-groomed eyebrows.
During the storm, Nita allows Maria Ruiz to see her daughter for five minutes for releasing the hostages, despite promising Gloria Mendoza furlough. Initially, Nita appears to be relieved that there have been no casualties during the storm, but then finds out and tells Joe Caputo and Natalie Figueroa that 10 inmates remain missing in the pool.
