Pepa is the daughter of Yadriel and Maria Ruiz.
Biography[]
BeforeSeason One[]
Maria discovers she is pregnant after she is incarcerated for trafficking of counterfeit clothes. She calls Yadriel to tell him that he is the father, although it is possible that Pepa's biological father may have been Manuel, who Maria was also sleeping with before her incarceration.
Season One[]
Pepa is born after a heavily pregnant Maria Ruiz' water finally breaks. She is taken off of her, however, after recieving very little time with her and is not seen again throughout this season.
Season Two[]
Pepa is seen with Maria during visiting hours. ("A Whole Other Hole")
Her father, Yadriel, is not talkative with Maria whatsoever. When Maria finds out she will be transferred to Virginia, Maria begs Yadriel to talk more to Pepa so she does not have a bad upbringing. ("It Was the Change")
Season Three[]
Pepa is seen once more for Mother's Day where Maria and Maritza are comparing their children. Maria claims her baby is cuter. Yadriel picks Pepa up, and tells Maria he will not be returning to Litchfield until her release. Pepa is not seen again after this.
Season Five[]
While with Yadriel and his mother go shopping with Pepa, a young, beautiful woman, Carolina, coos over Pepa and uses her to flirt with Yadriel. Yadriel takes Pepa away from Carolina, however. ("Breaking the Fiberboard Ceiling")
In Season Five, Yadriel shows up to Litchfield during the riots, and brings Pepa along with him. Maria and Pepa are allowed five minutes of time together before a guard has to collect Ruiz again. ("Storm-y Weather")
