Alan "Elijah" Tatelbaum is a rabbi. Being specialized in corporate inquiry, he is hired by Danny Pearson to visit Litchfield checking the Jewish faith of those inmates eating kosher, as there are more and more inmates claiming to be Jewish for the purpose of getting better food in Season Three. He is portrayed by Eric Zuckerburg.
Alan Tatelbaum is shown to be focused on the Jewish faith and accepting of those who wish to join it when asked three times.
Physical Appearance Edit
Alan Tatelbaum has thinning brown hair and brown eyes. He has glasses which are often on the end of his nose.
He is known to have a cousin called Aimee, whom he had an embarrassing past with as brought up by Shelly Ginsberg.
Rabbi Tatelbaum is brought in to Litchfield by Danny Pearson to check all the inmates (Lolly Whitehill, Angie Rice, Jane Ingalls, Cindy Hayes, Gerrman and Stella Carlin) on their claim to the Jewish faith. ("Where My Dreidel At")
He is then brought in one more time to convert Black Cindy to Judaism, he asks Cindy why she wants to transition, and after a powerful speech delivered by Cindy, Alan allows Cindy into the faith. ("Trust No Bitch")
Cindy calls Tatelbaum and requests a good lawyer. He is not seen. ("Who Knows Better Than I")
